A website is not finished at launch. Software underneath it needs updates, backups need checking, and something eventually breaks at the worst time. A maintenance plan is how that gets handled by someone whose job it is.
What a plan covers
- Security updates applied and checked every month.
- Daily backups, kept somewhere safe, with a tested way to restore them.
- Uptime monitoring, so we know the site is down before your customers tell you.
- Fixes within a response time written into the plan.
- Small text and image changes, in most plans.
- A monthly report in plain words.
What moves the monthly price
- Size and complexity. An online store with payments needs more care than a five-page brochure site.
- Response time. Same-day fixes cost more than next-working-day.
- What is included. Hosting, content changes and speed work can be part of the plan or priced separately.
- Who built it. Taking over a site built by someone else starts with a review, because we need to know what we are looking after.
When a plan is not worth it
A temporary site, a page you can rebuild in a day, or a site about to be replaced does not need a monthly plan. Pay for fixes as they happen instead. For anything that brings enquiries or sales, the plan is cheaper than the first outage.
