We would rather say that plainly than keep a permanent list of roles we are not hiring for. We do read speculative applications, and we keep good ones on file — several people here first wrote to us when nothing was posted.

You send something real
A repository, a site you built, a bug you are proud of fixing. A CV on its own tells us very little.

A conversation, not a quiz
We talk through your own work and how you made the decisions in it. No whiteboard algorithm puzzles.

A short paid exercise
Scoped to a few hours, close to real work, and paid. We do not ask anyone to build free features.

An answer either way
You hear back with a decision and a reason, whichever way it goes. Silence is not a response.
What working here is like
- You own features end to end — schema, backend, interface, deploy — rather than being handed tickets.
- Client work, which means real deadlines and real constraints. We are honest that this is not a research role.
- Code review on everything, by people who explain the reasoning rather than just marking it up.
- A small team, so your decisions carry weight — and so does the mess if you leave one behind.
